Product Description

Custom Embroidered Port Authority Welded Soft Shell Jacket (J324)

The Port Authority Welded Soft Shell Jacket (J324) is a bonded soft shell with a 100% polyester woven shell over a water-resistant film insert and a polyester microfleece lining, rated 1000MM waterproof and 1000G/M2 breathable, with welded detailing at the pockets and elbows. Utilities, contractors and service companies issue it as a multi-season uniform jacket. Wholesale Caps and Embroidery decorates it in-house at our Houston, Texas facility, embroidering apparel since 1979.

Embroidery is the method we lead with here. Left chest for the company mark, back yoke for the company name at readable distance, and a sleeve for a division or a certification — a three-placement job is common on this jacket. Woven and leather patches hold up well on a bonded shell and are the right call for name panels that change with staff. DTF print covers detailed art. All decoration is in-house in Houston.

Product Features

  • 100% polyester woven shell bonded to a water-resistant film insert with a 100% polyester microfleece lining
  • 1000MM fabric waterproof rating and 1000G/M2 breathability rating; wind-resistant and water-repellent
  • Welded detailing on the pockets and at the elbows
  • Reverse coil zippers with locking zipper pulls
  • Full-length interior storm flap with chin guard and zippered chest pocket
  • Open hem with drawcord and toggles for adjustability; six colors in XS through 4XL

Why Buyers Pick It

Buy this one when the jacket has to last a multi-year uniform cycle. The details that fail first on cheap outerwear are addressed here: locking zipper pulls that do not creep open, welded pockets and elbows at the two spots that abrade first, and a full-length interior storm flap that keeps water off the zipper teeth. The drawcord-and-toggle hem lets a wearer seal out wind in a truck yard. Spread over three seasons of daily wear, the step up from the base soft shell pays for itself in jackets you do not replace.

Sizing

XS through 4XL, eight sizes, including the extended 2XL, 3XL and 4XL. Mix sizes and colors on one order — there is no minimum, so one jacket for a new hire in March is as easy to order as forty in October. The women's cut of the same jacket is the Port Authority Women’s Welded Soft Shell L324. If your budget is tighter, the Core Soft Shell J317 runs to 6XL. More in the jackets collection.

How to Order

Pick your colors and build your size run, then send artwork. No minimum applies, so a single piece is a real order. You will get a free digital mockup before anything goes to the machines; once you approve it, the Welded Soft Shell Jacket ships in 7–10 business days with free ground shipping on most orders. Rush production is available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Welded Soft Shell Jacket?
It is the Port Authority Welded Soft Shell Jacket. J324 decorated with your logo. Wholesale Caps and Embroidery is a decorator, not a blank-goods supplier: we buy the garment and put your mark on it, embroidering every piece in-house at our own Houston, Texas facility. We have been doing it since 1979, and your artwork never leaves our building.

Do we have to buy a minimum quantity?
You do not. The Welded Soft Shell Jacket carries no minimum, so you can order one piece to check fit and stitch quality before committing to a bigger run. Caps are the one exception in our catalog — embroidered caps start at 12 pieces. Everything in outerwear has no minimum.

How is the J324 different from the J317?
Same bonded construction and the same 1000MM waterproof and 1000G/M2 breathability ratings, but the J324 adds welded pocket and elbow detailing, locking zipper pulls, a full-length interior storm flap, a zippered chest pocket and a drawcord hem. The J317 runs XS through 6XL; the J324 runs XS through 4XL.

Can we run three logo placements on one jacket?
Yes. Left chest, back yoke and sleeve is a common combination on this style, and we quote each placement separately so you can decide what earns its keep. Every placement is drawn to scale on your free digital mockup before production.

What happens to our logo file after the first order?
It stays with us. Your digitized file is stored under your account, so a reorder six months or six years later stitches out identically — and you skip the setup step entirely.

Can we run one logo across several styles?
That is the normal request. We stitch the same logo on the Welded Soft Shell Jacket and on any other apparel you order, and caps can go on the same purchase order. Apparel carries no minimum; the cap portion starts at 12 pieces.

What is your turnaround time?
Production runs 7–10 business days after proof approval. The clock starts when you approve the mockup, not when you place the order, so approving quickly is the fastest thing you can do. Rush is available on request.

Ask us for a free digital mockup on the J324 before you commit to a rollout. No minimum applies — order a single piece first — and the outerwear collection has the rest.

Proof

  1. After your order is placed, we enter it into our system and send an "Artwork & Mockup Approval" email within 24-36 hours. This is to verify design, design placement, size, and product colors.
  2. Once you approve the artwork mockup, we create the .dst file (stitch file). This file is used to tell our embroidery machines what to stitch. Note: Cancellation after this step incurs a $30 restocking fee.
  3. We create a sewout and/or update the mockup using the .dst file and send it to you for approval. It's at this point where you want to make sure all colors, size, and placement are as requested.
  4. You may request changes to the same design before sewout and/or .dst approval. A completely new design request at this stage incurs a $30 fee.
  5. After final approval, production begins. Once items are decorated, the order is non-refundable unless there is a defect in the product or decoration.

Setup Charge

A $30 setup fee is automatically added to the cart and required for all orders. This covers the order processing costs.
